Th1/Th2란?

  • T helper cells (Th)은 면역반응을 억제하거나 조절함으로써 적응면역시스템에서 매우 중요한 역할을 합니다. 활성화 된 후 T-helper cell은 Th1 혹은 Th2 effector cell로 분화됩니다. 
  • 이 두 그룹은 고유한 사이토카인 발현 패턴과 면역기능을 특징으로 합니다. Th1/Th2 패러다임은 전염병에 대한 새로운 백신 개발과 알레르기 및 자가면역 질환의 치료를 위한 새로운 전략에 대한 근거를 제공합니다.
  • Th1 및 Th2 세포는 각각 helper T cell이 인식한 병원체 유형에 따라 특화된 cytokine 조합을 생성합니다. 일부 cytokine은 특정 침입자를 제거하는 과정에서 다른 cytokine보다 더 효과적입니다.
